Last week, I ventured out to the middle of nowhere near Tilden, Nebraska to photograph the Knust Family. The have land that they farm out there, so I was more than happy to drive to their neck of the woods for some new scenery. On my drive from Norfolk, I thought it was going to be another beautiful sunset, but by the time I drove through Tilden, a dark cloud of fog began to appear. We were a little afraid of storms, but luckily it just stayed foggy, which actually produced some pretty spectacular lighting.
When Ashley messaged me a few weeks ago about taking some updated family portraits for her family, I was ecstatic! I have known Ashley for about eight years now. We met a long time ago when we were both in college in Omaha. We were both bank tellers at a bank that is no longer in business. Unfortunately, we went through a pretty scary ordeal together, and because of that, I know that Ashley is the only person in this world that fully grasps just exactly how I feel about the events that transpired that day. So, when she messaged me, I jumped at the opportunity to see her again. We have ran into each other a handful of times in the past few years, but it was so great being able to catch up with her like no time has passed since the last time I saw her!
Photographing this family was a joy. You can tell just by looking at these pictures the bond these three share. Little Brecken was a ball of energy, but he was a little ham. I always tell parents it is OK if your kids are a little wound up. I would far rather try to take pictures of a child that is full of energy, than a child that is crying. So, let them run and be crazy, and I will do my best to capture their spirit!
Here are just a few of my favorite portraits from the Knust family fall portrait session. Their love really shines though in all the images. Thank you so much, Ashley, Brent, and Brecken for choosing me to be your photographer. I hope you love your images!
