Last month, I photographed the Bessmer Family from Battle Creek, Nebraska. All the kids and grandkids bought their parents/grandparents a gift card for a family portrait session from me at Christmas time. When I received an email a few days before the Fourth of July that everyone was going to be home for the holiday weekend, I wanted to make sure that I could squeeze them in.
Luckily, the weather cooperated for their appointment time, because all the other sessions that I had planned for that weekend had been rained out. It was cloudy, and pretty wet that morning, but the lighting was fabulous. Often times, my clients are worried when the sky is overcast, but I have to reassure them that overcast days are excellent in the photography world. Think of it as a giant diffuser that makes soft, even lighting no matter where you are posed. Definitely a score for me!
Thank you again to the Bessmer family for allowing me to capture such important memories for you. Here are a few of my favorites from their three generation family portrait session at KP Photography in Norfolk, Nebraska.
