Last week, I had the joy of photographing sisters, Mischa and Jiah, both in the graduating class of 2016 from Norfolk Senior High School in Norfolk, Nebraska. Mischa is a true senior, and Jiah is graduating a couple years early, so they both came to me to have their senior portraits taken. It was a windy, dreary, and quite chilly day but we managed to make it work.
A common trend with senior photography right now is to have a portrait taken with a friend or sibling, so we made sure to do just that with these two. We tried a few different poses with them, but as soon as I captured this image, I knew this one was my favorite!
With senior portraits, I like to do both studio portraits, and outdoor portraits. Most schools have guidelines to follow for the yearbook, and they usually require that your picture is an indoor headshot. Plus, the classic headshots are always appreciated by grandparents! Once we get the studio portraits out of the way, we go to a few locations recommended by the senior (or myself if they have no preference) and finish up the session outdoors.
Once their photo shoot is complete, I fully edit the best images from the session, and in about two weeks, the seniors are able to view their images in a private online gallery where they can show family and friends, and pick out their favorite images.
Mischa and Jiah were a lot of fun to photograph. They joked with me, and I feel like we all three had a good time even though is was bitter cold outside. Here are just a few of my favorites from their session together. Best of luck to both of you as you start this new chapter in your lives!
